Colomba Bianca

Meet the producer

Colomba Bianca is a true champion of organic winemaking in its Sicilian homeland, and across southern Italy. Established in 1970, this cooperative comprises more than 2,500 growers, managing approximately 7,500 hectares of vineyards, more than 1,800 of which are given over to certified organic cultivation.

The vineyards have been chosen to cover a diverse range of terroirs, from the chalky soils of Vita to the coastal sands of Mazara del Vallo. This diversity supports an exciting breadth of grape varieties, including indigenous Nero d’Avola, Grillo, and Perricone, as well as international cultivars.

Colomba Bianca’s six wineries, spread across the region, are each kitted out to process specific grape varieties, ensuring that each wine benefits from a tailored approach. While this multi-centre strategy may seem a little lavish, it results in wines that are true to their varietal characteristics and terroir of origin.

The winery’s commitment to sustainability is evident in its use of precision viticulture, renewable energy sources (including extensive solar arrays) and a cabinet full of respected certifications including SOStain and VIVA.
