After a decade of honing its craft, working with some of the most revered names in brewing, food and the arts, Two Tribes last year finally leapt to the next phase of its evolution, with a hugely ambitious new brewery tap, Campfire, in the heart of London’s King’s Cross.

The spark of inspiration for Campfire arrived in a setting about as far removed from the urban bustle of King’s Cross as it’s possible to get: a crop circle in the heart of the English countryside. It’s 2019, and Two Tribes chief Justin Deighton hooks up with Julian D Brown AKA ‘The Firestarter’ for a collaboration with six of the most revered chefs from London’s restaurant scene for a one-off, open- air six course tasting menu. 


Set against the backdrop of stretch tents and sunsets, this banquet – inspired by pagan fire festivals – pairs each course with Two Tribes beers and lovingly curated music. No-one at the time has any idea the experience was to become such a talked about ‘were you there’ moment. The music, the food and the atmosphere were second to none and from this moment, Campfire was ignited.

Campfire London is the love child of that first open fire event, now a unique live fire-cooking and fermentation freight container venue in the heart of London. Part community hub, part entertainment space, the bar is centred around an open-fire pit where live-fire chefs serve up food to a backdrop of visiting DJs and musicians, many of whom are resident at the recording studios and record labels located nearby.


As a taproom, Campfire feels genuinely revolutionary. As an expression of what Two Tribes is all about, of the collaborative, culturally connected ethos that has won it so many fans, it is simply perfect.

“The craft beer scene is London has shifted from being only a handful of decent taprooms and bars to becoming community hubs,” says Justin. “People want to support independent, they want to support local, and the craft scene is so genuinely passionate about being innovative and giving back.”
