Freddo Fox is a small, independent brewery located in the Poblenou neighbourhood of Barcelona and was founded by Marcus Tybell, Robin Barden, and Elliott Konig in January 2021. Its mission is to create bold, adventurous, and delicious beers of the highest quality in creatively designed cans inspired by the street art of its neighbourhood. Its beers are focused on three styles: hop-forward beers, fresh fruit focused sours, and strong, dark beers that the team loves getting creative with.

Freddo Fox has been a friend to Garden for several years now, and did one of its first international collaborations there during its infancy as a brewery. “We are fans of their beers and the people behind them and when they approached us to take part in this amazing initiative we didn’t hesitate to accept the honour” says founder, Elliott Konig. “The collection of international breweries that they were able to gather for this project is really impressive and we wanted to show our support and be a part of it”.

Like many breweries, Freddo Fox works with local farmers as much as possible to acquire fresh and organic ingredients, and like many other breweries participating in this collaboration, offers its spent grains back to farmers for the feeding of their livestock. At the brewery, Elliott says the team is in the process of researching and pricing out a conversion to solar power, to take advantage of the 300 days of sun it sees in Barcelona annually. For Freddo Fox’s local community, it has also made an investment in stainless kegs to reduce the use of plastic, one-use kegs which have unfortunately become common in the industry. It’s also incentivising this with more favourable prices for on-traders choosing reusable stainless kegs over single-use plastic.
