Beer52 Limited - Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement

This statement is made pursuant to Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 for the financial year ending June and has been approved by the Board of Directors of Beer52 Limited. Beer52 Limited is a certified B Corp and has been carbon-neutral since 2019 under the UN Climate Neutral Now Initiative.

1. Introduction

Beer52 Limited ("Beer52", "the Company", "we") is committed to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. We recognise that modern slavery is a significant global issue and we take seriously our responsibility to identify, prevent and mitigate the risks of forced labour, servitude, child labour, debt bondage, human trafficking, and other exploitative labour practices.

This statement is made pursuant to Section 54 of the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015 and outlines the steps taken by Beer52 during the financial year ending June to ensure that modern slavery is not taking place in our operations or supply chains.

2. Our Business and Structure

Beer52 is a UK-based business focused on the sourcing, subscription and retail of beer, wine, whisky and related products under the Beer52, Wine52 and Whisky52 brands. Our headquarters are in Edinburgh, Scotland. We employ approximately 80 people across procurement, fulfilment, logistics, product development, technology, marketing, finance, customer service and administration.

3. Our Supply Chain

We operate a global supply chain, which includes:

  • Brewers, wineries and distilleries

  • Packaging, fulfilment and storage providers

  • Logistics and courier companies

  • Technology, software and marketing suppliers

  • Professional services

We primarily source from partners located in the UK, EU and North America. While many of these are in jurisdictions with comparatively low labour-rights risk, we recognise that global supply chains can carry inherent risk - particularly in agricultural production, manufacturing, packaging, seasonal labour, and international logistics.

4. Policies and Governance

Beer52 maintains a full suite of relevant policies designed to prevent modern slavery, including (but not limited to):

  • Ethical Sourcing and Supplier Standards

  • Anti-Modern Slavery Policy

  • Whistleblowing Policy

  • Anti-Bribery and Corruption Policy

  • Recruitment and Right-to-Work Policy

These policies are overseen by senior management, reviewed periodically, and form the basis for our supplier onboarding, contract terms and internal governance. As a certified B Corp, Beer52 meets rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability and transparency. We integrate our commitment to people, planet, community and business integrity into our operations, aligning modern slavery prevention with our broader sustainability and ethical-business commitments.

5. Risk Assessment and Due Diligence

Beer52 undertakes proportionate due diligence in relation to suppliers to identify and assess potential modern slavery risks. Standard due-diligence processes include:

  • Supplier onboarding checks

  • Requesting written confirmation of compliance with applicable labour laws

  • Risk-based assessments for new and existing suppliers

  • Inclusion of labour-standards clauses in supplier contracts

  • Screening for adverse media, sanctions, or reputational risk where relevant

Where higher risk is identified, for instance in labour-intensive activities or in lower-governance jurisdictions, we may request additional documentary evidence, compliance certifications, or enhanced monitoring. Should evidence of non-compliance arise, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate arrangements.

6. Supplier Standards and Contractual Controls

Our standard supplier terms require adherence to our ethical standards, including:

  • Prohibition of forced, bonded, trafficked or child labour

  • Payment of fair wages, reasonable working hours, safe and healthy working conditions

  • Respect for freedom of movement and association, no retention of workers? identity or travel documents

  • Prohibition of discrimination, harassment or abuse

We expect our direct suppliers to cascade equivalent standards to their subcontractors and wider supply network.

7. Recruitment and Employment Practices

Beer52 employment practices with all relevant UK employment laws, including:

  • National Minimum/Living Wage compliance

  • Working time and holiday regulations

  • Right-to-work verification before hiring

We do not charge workers any recruitment fees, and we do not use exploitative or unethical recruitment practices. Use of third-party labour providers is only permitted where those providers meet equivalent standards.

8. Training and Awareness

Relevant staff in procurement, operations and HR receive training to help them recognise indicators of modern slavery and understand the company?s reporting and escalation procedures. We maintain a confidential whistle-blowing channel for staff and suppliers who raise concerns.

9. Monitoring and Performance

We monitor the effectiveness of our modern-slavery prevention efforts via:

  • Regular reviews of our policies and supplier contracts

  • Due diligence at supplier onboarding and at periodic intervals

  • Identification and remediation of compliance issues

  • Internal reporting of concerns, investigations and outcomes

To date, we have not identified any confirmed cases of modern slavery in our operations or supply chains.

10. Future Commitments

Over the next financial year, Beer52 intends to maintain best practice in this area by continuing to review and enhance policies in line with evolving best practices

11. Review and Approval

This Modern Slavery Statement has been approved by the Board of Directors of Beer52 Limited in accordance with Section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
