Aegir Project
Years of dreaming went into the design of Aegir Project – a small brewery on the outskirts of Cape Town, and which was founded by Rory Lancellas in 2015. For almost a decade prior to that, Rory had travelled around New Zealand, the South Pacific, and eventually, Scotland – all the while working for breweries that taught him their ways. He returned to South Africa with a vision for his own brewery, founding Aegir Project with a view to growing slowly and bringing South African drinkers along for the ride. Though Aegir does put some beers into can, the majority of its modern, hop-forward range can be found and best enjoyed in the taproom right next to the brewery.
