Grutte Pier Brouwerij
Grutte Pier Brewery owes its name to the heroic stories of Pier Gerlofs Donia, a freedom fighter and folk hero who protected Friesland from the Saxons and the Dutch around 1517. Thanks to his gigantic stature and superhuman strength, he was renamed Grutte Pier. A name that stands for strength, freedom, independence, reliability and pride. Just like Grutte Pier Brouwerij’s beer, which are predominantly Belgian in style, often seasonal, and very occasionally barrel aged — if you’re lucky!
